Researchers have identified Impatiens yakandawalarum, a new plant species endemic to Sri Lanka, in the Mannakeththa Ella ecosystem in Kitulgala. The discovery brings the number of Impatiens species recorded in Sri Lanka to 28 including 19 endemic species.
