SRI LANKA’S PRIDE
I’m excited to achieve great milestones with them next season
Yevan David

LMD’s glossy tabloid the Good News Collection (GNC) – yes, it is strictly and exclusively a monthly smorgasbord of good news! – features stories that whet the appetite of readers with a delectable celebration of Sri Lanka and Sri Lankans, in the context of successes, awards, accolades and more.
And since its launch at the beginning of this year, an 18 year old Dubai based Sri Lankan has made a habit of being featured in it for more reasons than one.
Racing sensation Yevan David made history recently by becoming the first driver from Sri Lanka to enter the Formula 3 Championship, signing with AIX Racing for next year – “Yevan races into Formula 3!” as GNC headlined on its September edition.
David has already built an impressive resumé in single seater racing, currently competing in the Euroformula Open Championship where he’s claimed victories and additional podium finishes.
And as GNC explained, his rise to fame began in karting, where he earned a fourth place finish in the 2020 IAME Asia Cup (X30 Junior), sixth in the 2021 FIA Karting Academy Trophy and a silver medal in the Motorsport Games Karting Sprint Senior event.
In 2023, David competed at high-level international karting events including the WSK Champions Cup and FIA World Cup for KZ2 shifter karts, before stepping up to car racing a year later.
That year, he completed full seasons in the Eurocup 3, Spanish Formula 4 and UAE Formula 4 Championships, marking his first full single seater campaigns.
Reflecting on his historic achievement, Yevan expressed pride in representing Sri Lanka on the world stage and his gratitude to AIX Racing for the opportunity. “I’m excited to achieve great milestones with them next season,” he said.
Born on 11 July 2007 in Romford in the UK, he relocated with his parents (Yohan and Roshika) to Singapore at the age of four, where he studied, before moving to Dubai.
Interestingly, his grandparent (Paramesh David) was a motor racer back in Sri Lanka.
